The PCG Freelancing Award is for freelancers, consultants and contractors who work flexibly, remotely or work from home as a freelance consultant or freelance contractor.

PCG, the voice of freelancing was established in 1999 and with now circa 20,000 have evolved to be the UK’s leading association supporting, protecting and promoting the interests of consultants, contractors and freelance workers.

Who are PCG?
PCG - the voice of freelancing
PCG is the industry association that looks after the interests of freelancers, consultants and contractors in the UK.  PCG wants freelancing to be valued and respected – not only as a legitimate choice for the working professional, but as a vital force for the UK economy.

PCG supports its members by providing:
•    specialist guidance on freelance tax, regulatory and business matters (including dedicated expert tax and legal help-lines)
•    template contracts and expert support to help manage engagements
•    a community for members to share experiences and knowledge via on-line forums in
addition to regional workshops and networking meetings
•    expert advisers during tax investigations and cover for professional fees incurred
•    preferential rates negotiated with third party suppliers on key necessities for freelancers, to facilitate members’ commercial development.


PCG represents its members by:
•    interpreting key items of legislation or regulation and campaigning with both passion and pragmatism for change where appropriate
•    consulting with and lobbying government at national and European level, providing expert input into sector issues, thus helping to influence policy decisions
•    funding key legal cases with the aim of maintaining a body of case law for the benefit of freelancers.

PCG promotes its members’ interests by:
•    consistently positioning freelancing as a legitimate method of working, vital to the UK economy
•    providing best practice guidance to agencies and end-clients that engage freelancers
•    raising awareness of the value of the freelance workforce through far reaching PR and advertising.

Award Criteria: Freelance Consultants or Self Employed Contractors showing how remote or home working benefits their business.

* Do you think remote working or home working is a greener way to work and why does it benefit your business?

2. Why should you be Freelancer of the Year?

* What technology advancements drive your business? How do you target and communicate with your clients or customers?
